The 13,000-kilometre road trip was fourth in a string of successful Gran Turismo tours developed by Ferrari to expand its brand globally. As with previous tours, Shell was on board as a major supporter. Special events were staged along the way as testament to the strong technical partnership that exists between the two companies.
"Shell is thrilled to be supporting the Ferrari 'Magic India Discovery' tour in 2008," said Juan Carlos Perez, General Manager Global Sponsorships, Shell Brands International at the launch. "Our technical partnership is one of the oldest and most well-known in Formula One, but Ferrari also uses Shell V-Power road fuel and Shell Helix Ultra motor oil in the development of engines for its magnificent Gran Turismo cars, such as the 612 Scaglietti featured in this tour."
During the trip, the two Ferraris made guest appearances at Shell events in Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Delhi. At each location, Shell customers, employees and partners experienced the unique sight and sound of this glorious flagship model first-hand.
