Ducati stars make a pit-stop in Madrid

See what happened when the Ducati MotoGP team made a pit-stop at a Shell service station in Madrid, and surprised some lucky Shell customers.  Riders Casey Stoner and Nicky Hayden were on hand to fill up the bikes of Ducati fans with Shell V-Power road fuel, the road-going equivalent of the Shell V-Power race fuel which powers the Ducati bikes in MotoGP.

Shell takes you behind the scenes as the Ducati Corse MotoGP riders Casey Stoner and Nicky Hayden make a pit-stop in Madrid.

The Ducati stars stopped off at a Shell service station in the Spanish capital, en-route to their final testing session before the start of the 2009 season. Watch as two lucky Ducati fans were able to meet the 2006 and 2007 World Champions when they arrived to refuel their bikes.

The whole day was captured on this exclusive video which shows Nicky Hayden turning pump attendant and filling the bike of one of the Ducati fans with Shell V-Power road fuel, the road-going equivalent of the Shell V-Power race fuel which powers the Ducati Desmosedici GP9 in MotoGP.  The knowledge gained from developing fuels for racing these high revving, ultra-powerful engines contributes to the development of Shell V-Power for the road, which is a vital part of Shell’s research and development process.

Hayden joked, "It´s part of my new contract… I have to work 20 days for Shell and this is my first day!”
