Quenching Oils and Fluids - For Heat Treatment of Steel

printable version
Quenching Oils & Fluids

Shell has developed a wide range of quenching fluids to meet the needs of most operations. These fluids take into account the strengthening ability of steel, minimum distortion, different types of parts produced and the surface of components. The Shell Voluta range complies with relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, as do all of Shell’s products.

Quenching Oil

Shell Voluta Oils have been formulated with refined specific base oil to provide high thermal stability.

Shell Voluta Oils offer excellent resistance to oxidation and cracking phenomena and can be used in all

types of furnaces.

Shell Voluta C, M, H

• Can be used at cold, medium and hot temperatures

• Have different cooling rates: normal, medium and high

• Have low volatility and a high degree of inflammability

• Have viscosity adapted to reduce dragout

• No sludge formation
