Shell Chemicals announce appointments to Leadership Team

Shell Chemicals are pleased to announce the appointments of Doug Alexander, Tony Verbraeken, Clive Grant and Allen Kirkley to the Chemicals Leadership Team (CLT). The CLT is responsible for the total profitability, growth and overall portfolio optimisation for Shell Chemicals Limited.
Doug Alexander, Vice President Finance Chemicals
Doug joined Shell in 1989 and has undertaken a broad range of finance roles for the Group in both the Upstream and Downstream. Prior to joining the Chemicals team Doug was Vice President for Shell Oil Products Latin America. Doug started his new role in April 2006 and is based in London.
Tony Verbraeken, Vice President Human Resources
Tony joined Shell in The Netherlands in 1992 and has since held a variety of HR roles in South Africa, the Caribbean and in London. Tony was appointed Vice President, Human Resources, for Shell Chemicals in November 2005 and is based in London.
Clive Grant, Lead Counsel Shell Chemicals
Clive joined Shell after reading law at Cambridge University and qualifying with Mayer, Brown, Rowe and Maw. During his career he has worked for most businesses in Shell and has spent time in most regions including Europe, South America, the US and Asia. Clive took up his current position in April 2006.
Allen Kirkley, Vice President Strategy, Acquisitions and Divestments
Allen joined Shell in the US in 1980 and has since held a number of different posts in the Oil Products and Chemicals businesses. Prior to taking up his current role in May 2006 Allen was the Vice President, Contracting and Procurement for Shell International Oil Products.
In addition to the new appointments to the CLT Sven Royall, formerly Vice President Strategy, Acquisitions & Divestments has taken up the role of Vice President Customer Services & Intermediates from the 1st May 2006. Sven takes over from Jan van der Eijk who moves from Chemicals into the new position of Group Chief Technology Officer. In Jan's new role he will develop a Technology Strategy and will manage R&D funding decisions at a Group and Business level. His appointment is a significant step forward for Shell and represents a firm commitment to a culture that fosters innovation with visible support for technical leadership at the most senior levels of the company.
