Sakhalin II Project Announces New Japanese Sales Agreement with Tohoku Electric

Global LNG leader, Shell Gas & Power announced today (1 June) that its joint venture Sakhalin II project has signed a Heads of Agreement for the sale and purchase of 0.42 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG with Tohoku Electric Power Company Inc.
Deliveries for the agreement, for a period of some 20 years, are expected to commence in 2010.
This is the sixth Japanese customer to sign a sales deal with Sakhalin Energy, and the second sales agreement to be signed within the last three days.
It brings the total number of agreements signed for LNG from the Sakhalin Project to eight.
