Shell Marine Products recognises that over 90% of accidents can be attributed to behavioural factors and that in order to effectively improve our performance in regards to HSSE, we must address the behavioural issues as well as the procedural aspects of our operations.
The Safety @ ♥ programme takes account of behavioural safety initiatives in other Shell companies but is tailored to target audiences within the bunker industry including employees, contractors and customers.
This development is an ongoing process that includes workshops and presentations as well as "behind the scenes" work such as simplification and standardisation of procedures.
