| Using hydraulic products offered by other suppliers,
the customer was experiencing unplanned downtime
caused by the degradation of the lubricant. The press
was overheating causing premature thermal
breakdowns and product oxidation. Shell was
approached for a solution. |
After a very detailed analysis of the situation, the
Shell Technical Team recommended Shell Tellus S 68 as a
product solution. This zinc and chlorine free formulation
met the performance criteria of this application and is
approved by the OEM, Rexroth. Shell Tellus S 68 ensures
exceptional performance in hydraulic fluid power
transmission systems that are subjected to severe heavyduty
workloads. |

As a result of the Shell Technical Team assessment and applying the recommended use of Shell Tellus S 68,
the customer experienced a number of operational

For Huletts Aluminium, the US$52,920 in calculated
savings over five months can be attributed to an
increase in production time. This financial benefit
is a direct result of the change to Shell Tellus S 68.
Additional savings are also expected to follow in the
areas of component replacement and lower product
consumption costs. The savings indicated are specific to the calculation date and mentioned site. These calculations may vary from site to site depending on application, operating conditions, current products being used, condition of the equipment and maintenance practices. |
