 “Al-Jeraiwi is a family group which was set up by my father who was a trader many years ago. The Group has business interests throughout The Gulf, in property, plastics and various other commodities,” says Adnan Al-Jeraiwi, Joint Owner of Al-Jeraiwi Sponge Industries. “The business was established in 1966 in The Gulf, where Al-Jeraiwi was the first company to manufacture polyurethane foam. Today the company, which recently achieved ISO 9001-2000 Certification for its quality management system, is one of the biggest producers of polyurethane foam in Kuwait. “The foam we make is used mostly in furniture and mattresses. At Al-Jeraiwi we make the foam into beds and our biggest customers are in both the wholesale and retail furniture business in Kuwait. “We have been working with Shell for more than 16 years now and Shell Chemicals is one of our major suppliers. The products we use come from the Shell Chemicals Depot at the Jebel Ali Free Zone in the UAE and are delivered by road using bulk road tankers. “So, we know Shell well and they provide us with a very good service,” he says.
