“The relationship that Kuwait Airways has withShell is a good one,” says Khalid Marafi, Manager of Fuel and Financial Affairs Operations, Kuwait Airways. “We work closely with Shell’s Regional Aviation Office in Dubai and are able to interact with Arabic-speaking employees at Shell Dubai, which always makes things a great deal easier for us when we are doing business.

“Shell has a joint contract to supply fuel to Kuwait Airways, Gulf Air and Saudia at many locations worldwide.

“Kuwait Airways also calls on Shell from time to time when we have a need for ad hoc supplies, for the Amiri flights, and for additional flights, both scheduled and non-scheduled.

“In addition to our relationship with Shell through our fuelling activities, Shell is also one of Kuwait Airways’ major suppliers of lubricants for our aircraft engines and for hydraulics.

“So we have been dealing with Shell for some time now - in fact, from the very first day of our operations,” he concludes.
