Reserves settlement

Welcome to the website dedicated to the three settlements, each related to the recategorization by Shell of its proved oil and gas reserves in 2004. On this website you can find relevant documents and communications concerning each of the settlements and various proceedings. We advise you to check this website for updates on a regular basis.

We have set out below a brief summary of the scope of each of the settlements. Whether you are actually entitled to a claim under any of the settlements depends on several factors and will only be determined after you have validly submitted your claim with the documentation required for such settlement. It is very important that you read the Notices on the website.  In case you need any further information regarding a settlement, please contact the relevant settlement administrator.

NB. The deadline for submitting claim forms in respect of the US Class Action Settlement and/or the SEC Settlement has passed.

Non US Settlement (last update: December 15, 2009)

This settlement covers certain non-U.S. persons and entities who purchased shares of Royal Dutch Petroleum Company and/or The “Shell” Transport and Trading Company, plc on non-U.S. exchanges between April 8, 1999 and March 18, 2004, as more fully described in the Notice.

Non US Settlement

US Class Action Settlement

This settlement covers certain persons and entities who purchased shares of Royal Dutch Petroleum Company and/or The “Shell” Transport and Trading Company, plc on U.S. markets between April 8, 1999 and March 18, 2004, as well as certain U.S. persons and entities who purchased shares of RD and/or STT on non-U.S. markets between April 8, 1999 and March 18, 2004, as more fully described in the Notice.

US Settlement

SEC Settlement

This settlement relates to a fund of USD 120 million paid by Shell to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission in connection with the recategorization of its proved oil and gas reserves in 2004) and covers certain persons and entities who purchased shares of Royal Dutch Petroleum Company and/or The “Shell” Transport and Trading Company, plc on exchanges, either in the U.S. or outside the U.S., between April 8, 1999 and March 17, 2004, all as more fully described in the Notice.
