Harold Vinegar
Shell Chief Scientist Physics. Retired in 2008.
Harold is one of the principal inventors of Shell’s in situ conversion processes, upgrading oil while still in the ground. During his time with Shell he contributed to more than 50 external publications and earned around 150 patents across a variety of fields. Harold was with Shell for 32 years, retiring on October 31, 2008. He is now affiliated with the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.
