Willem Schulte

Shell Chief Scientist Reservoir Engineering

If we’re going to meet growing energy demand, we will need to bring more energy sources such as alternatives and renewables in to the mix. But right now, we have to get more oil out of our existing fields, and we have to develop tougher new ones.

After 28 years in reservoir engineering, Willem says he still has itchy fingers to dig deep and dream up solutions for any problem, especially in the science of subsurface flow. Willem is currently Chairman of the European Symposium for Improved Oil Recovery.
