Shell Shared Services Chennai commenced start-up in September 2007, and is the sixth in a chain of eight Shared Services Centres of Royal Dutch Shell plc, that provide a wide range of finance, accounting and other business or customer services to Shell operating companies globally. The Chennai centre was started as a key component of the Group's vision to enable the delivery of common business operations and services for Shell, at world-class standards and costs.

	About Us Shell has been ranked second in the world in the Forbes Global 2000 list of the world's biggest companies for 2009. In order to sustain our growth and success, common tasks that we share within our organisation have been highlighted and consolidated into shared services centres like the one in Chennai. The main focus in Chennai is on Finance Operations which supports delivery of the global Finance functional plan. There is also a small Competitor Intelligence unit; and a Downstream India Customer Services fulfills lubricant depot ordering within the country. Common Infrastructure Management manages the centre facilities and supports business partners' operations on site. Our expansion plans are on track and the Chennai centre continues to grow because of the demand for shared services capacity to help the Group achieve cost effective operations. We are currently in the process of recruiting and increasing our employee strength to meet these growing business demands, and our headcount is expected to grow substantially by the end of 2009.
