As part of its social investment program, Shell conducts a scholarship program for students from Elementary level to University. The University scholarship program has been maintained since 1994 with an aim to support the education of students from low-income families, but with academic achievement. As yet, the Shell university scholarship program covers students of University of Indonesia, ITB, Gadjah Mada University and Sepuluh November Institute of Technology (ITS). Out of total 439 applicants from UI, ITB, UGM & ITS, Shell finally could select the 40 best students. The selection took three stages: - The student's economical condition - proven by paper from Kelurahan
- The student's academic achievement - proven by the faculty
- The student's essays writings in which the students could opt for one of the four topics :
- Sustainable Energy - Business Practice - Anti Corruption - Road Safety - Corporate Social Responsibility
Based on those stages, after the review of essays by Shell judges, Shell decides that the following names are granted Shell scholarship.
