Shell Launches New FuelSave Unleaded Today To Help Hong Kong Drivers Save up to 8.95 Million Litres of Fuel Every Year**

09/10/2009

Shell’s FuelSave Ambassador Michael Wong announces Plans for Hong Kong’s First Shell 1 Litre Challenge Activity

[Hong Kong – October 9, 2009] Today Shell announces the release of its groundbreaking new fuel, Shell FuelSave, to help Hong Kong drivers get the most out of every drop. The introduction of Shell FuelSave is the latest initiative by Shell in its ongoing commitment to improve its fuel products in order to help drivers save fuel and save more for their pockets. Shell FuelSave is scientifically proven to be more efficient and, as the most advanced fuel economy formula fuel of Shell yet, it allows drivers to save up to 1 litre of fuel for every tank*. It is now available throughout Shell fuel stations in Hong Kong.

Save Up To 1 Litre Per Tank*
Eric Holthusen, Fuel Technology Manager, Shell Malaysia Ltd. said, “The introduction of Shell FuelSave is such an important breakthrough in improving Fuel Economy. The Efficiency Improver element is more successful at lubricating the engine so that the components are able to run more effectively, meaning that the vehicle can cover longer distances on the same amount of fuel. This works so that Shell FuelSave can save drivers up to one litre of fuel each time they fill up*.”

Michael Wong, as Shell’s FuelSave Ambassador, joined Daniel Ng, Director, Shell Hong Kong Ltd., as he introduced Shell FuelSave. Daniel Ng said, “The introduction of this gasoline is the latest effort by Shell in a bid to improve fuel economy in Hong Kong. Shell FuelSave is the most advanced Shell maingrade fuel economy fuel, helping drivers to save up to 1 litre of fuel each time they refill*. Last year, the total consumption of unleaded motor petrol in Hong Kong was 447.5 million litres. With Shell FuelSave, Hong Kong drivers are able to save up to 8.95 million litres of fuel each year**.”

“With the Shell FuelSave tips I have already learnt to save a lot of fuel, but with the introduction of Shell FuelSave I will be able to save even more. It’s great because it saves money and helps the environment,” said Michael Wong.

Shell 1 Litre Challenge
At the launch, Michael Wong’s celebrity friends Carl Ng, Ankie Beilke and Rosemary Vandenbrouc joined him and Daniel Ng to announce their participation in Hong Kong’s first Shell 1 Litre Challenge in November.
