Gibraltar

Shell started operations in Gibraltar in 1923 and the business developed over more than 80 years. The Shell Company of Gibraltar Ltd has now sold its downstream businesses.

On December 1, 2010 Shell completed the sale of its downstream businesses in Gibraltar to World Fuel Services - opens in new window.

This includes Shell’s retail, marine, commercial fuels, supply and distribution businesses, and Shell’s 50% shareholding in the aviation joint venture, Intoplane Services Gibraltar Ltd.

World Fuel Services will market, sell and distribute Shell-branded lubricants products and deliver Shell Marine Products to international customers in Gibraltar.

World Fuel Services will operate in Gibraltar as Gib Oil Ltd.
