Lisa Lilley is Shell’s Technology Manager for Ferrari. Based between Shell Global Solutions technical laboratory in Chester, UK, and Ferrari’s Gestione Sportiva in Maranello, Lisa oversees the Shell technical partnership with Ferrari ensuring that the Shell and Ferrari development programmes are fully integrated and move forward seamlessly. Whilst Lisa will be attending the majority of Formula One races in 2008 her responsibilities also cover Ferrari Road Car and the Ferrari Challenge Series.
Lisa has been working for Shell for 12 years, joining immediately after graduating with a degree in Chemical Process Engineering with biotechnology in 1995. She initially spent five years carrying out fundamental research into combustion chemistry, which she used as a basis to gain her PhD. She then went on to spend five years working on Shell’s alternative fuels project before joining the Formula One programme in 2005.
Three seasons working in Formula One have presented many unforgettable moments particularly the two races she attended in San Marino. Imola 2005 was Lisa’s first ever Formula One Grand Prix; Shell had just announced the renewal of the Shell technical partnership with Ferrari and it was an incredible race which saw Schumacher fight through the field to finish second. At Imola 2006, Michael won - the first race win Lisa had witnessed.
Lisa was also in Brazil 2007 for the nail biting race which saw Kimi Räikkönen clinch the double World Championship victory for Ferrari - a very emotional experience.
