Responsibilities to our employees

Companies need to attract and retain top talent if they are to compete and be successful on a global level.

Our sustainable development strategy means we need to continue to expand our capacity to build and operate larger, more complex projects and achieve operational excellence across all our facilities. Having skilled and experienced people will be essential to achieving this strategy. Attracting and retaining talented people will not be easy when we estimate that approximately a third of the world’s petroleum engineers will have reached retirement age by 2010.

We need to recruit and train a new generation of engineers and project managers. We need to ensure that they feel valued, have the opportunity to develop their skills and expertise, and work in an environment in which they feel respected, involved and rewarded.
