Energy efficiency in our own operations
We continue to invest in the energy efficiency of our operations and facilities. These include our major oil and gas production projects, chemical plants, oil refineries and oil sands facilities.
We have made progress in this area in recent years and have a multi-billion dollar investment plan in place. We continue to roll out our global CO2 energy management programmes, which use common tools, techniques and technology across our operations to optimise energy use.
But the technical challenge for oil and gas companies is getting harder. It will take more innovation, technology and energy to unlock oil and gas resources previously considered too difficult or costly to reach.
