Shell Eco-marathon challenges student teams from around the world to design, build and test ultra energy-efficient vehicles. With annual events first in the Americas, then Europe and Asia, the winners are the teams that go the furthest using the least amount of energy. The events spark debate about the future of mobility and inspire young engineers to push the boundaries of fuel efficiency.
The fourth and final day of racing at Shell Eco-marathon Europe 2012 has drawn to a close with winners from 10 countries scooping the prizes.
Day two of the Shell Eco-marathon Europe continued apace today with more than 18,000 people passing through the gates of the Ahoy conference centre in Rotterdam.
The 2012 Shell Eco-marathon Europe got off to a flying start today, with 2,000 students and 162 teams from 23 countries registered to compete. Over 20,000 visitors are expected to attend.
