We have completely reviewed the existing registration and application process of the European Shell Eco-marathon.
The detailed new rules and regulations will be shared with you shortly, but we wanted to already alert you that in 2008, the number of vehicles will be limited to a maximum of 200. Why? By limiting the number of participants to 200 we will be able to provide safer working and living conditions both on and off the circuit. Ensuring the safety of all participants has always been one of our top priorities. Applying for the 2008 edition of the European Shell Eco-marathon will happen in 3 steps: - Teams have to send in an
application form, completed with the official stamp of the relevant school or educational institution and signature of the director of the institution by 19 October 2007
- The Shell Eco-marathon Selection committee will decide which teams will be invited to participate in the Shell Eco-marathon 2008 ensuring as full a diversity as possible in terms of competing countries, education institutions, fuel categories and engine types. Selected teams will be notified by 15 November 2007. All decisions by the Selection committee regarding the acceptance of teams are final.
- Full entry pack must then be filled in and sent back by the selected teams by 14 December 2007. Only teams that have correctly completed the entry pack will be allowed to participate in the Shell Eco-marathon 2008. These teams will receive a final confirmation of their participation early 2008.
These new procedures have been put in place in the interest of everyone involved in the Shell Eco-marathon, whether it's the teams, the students, the organizers or the visitors. We look forward to receiving your applications and hope to see some of the most innovative and original fuel efficiency designs in next year’s edition of the European Shell Eco-marathon!
