Toluene

Shell chemicals companies are global manufacturers and suppliers of toluene. Toluene is used to make isocyanates, which are used in combination with polyols to manufacture polyurethanes. Toluene is also an important solvent.

Did you know?

Around 8% of toluene output is used to make toluene-diisocyanate (TDI), a precursor of polyurethanes. Breathable fabrics are just one of the many applications of polyurethanes.
