In addition Shell Chemicals are not aware of any such substances of very high concern present above a level of 0.1 % (w/w) in the packaging material of its products.
What is REACH?
REACH is the European Union (EU) regulatory system for chemicals. It came into force on 1 June 2007 and will involve the registration of some 30,000 chemicals.
REACH the key stages
The registration of a product under REACH is a complex process, requiring significant effort on the part of manufacturers and importers, and likely to stretch over at least three years.
What should you do?
REACH impacts the whole chemical supply chain. Whether you are a manufacturer, importer or downstream user, make sure you know your responsibilities to ensure continuity of supply.
Registration of product uses
Registration of Shell Chemicals products under REACH will include the registration of specific product uses. Downstream users can now review and feedback on product-specific use information at this website.
Globally Harmonised System in Europe
The Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals starts to take effect in Europe in 2010. Read more about the basic principles and timelines.
