Nigel Hobson joined the Chemicals Leadership Team on 1 August 2008 as Vice President Operations and HSSE. Prior to this appointment he was General Manager, Supply & Logistics for Shell Chemicals. In his current role Nigel has global responsibility for Supply Chain, Logistics and Customer Centres. In addition he is responsible for activities in the areas of Health, Safety, Security and the Environment (HSSE).

Nigel first joined Shell in early 2005 as a Consultancy Manager in the Downstream Strategy & Portfolio Management Consultancy leading a number of international engagements.

After graduating as a Chemical Engineer from Exeter University, Nigel gained a diversity of experience with ExxonMobil. He held leadership roles in Refinery Operations, Crude Oil Trading, Corporate Planning, Supply & Distribution Operations and B2B Sales.

Nigel is based in the Netherlands and married with three daughters, and his interests include sailing, travel and salmon fishing.
