Tan Juay Miang was appointed as General Manager, Base Chemicals - Asia Pacific Middle East, based in Singapore, with effect from 1 June 2010.

Juay Miang has worked in Shell Chemicals for the past 21 years. He holds a BEng(Hons) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Adelaide, Australia and a MBA from the National University of Singapore. Prior to joining Shell, Juay Miang worked for the Singapore Government in different roles including pollution control, environmental engineering and investment promotion with the Singapore Economic Development Board.

Since joining Shell Chemicals in 1991, Juay Miang has undertaken a variety of roles in areas such as sales and marketing, supply chain, marine and land logistics, and business management. His last major assignment was in China as Commercial Director of the CSPCL (Nanhai) joint venture.

Juay Miang is married with three children. He enjoys golf, reading and travelling and is actively involved in social work.
