Other senior executives

David Pappie was appointed General Manager Commercial Excellence in January 2010. David holds a Masters degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from VU Amsterdam and an MBA degree from the Rotterdam School of Management.

He joined Shell Chemicals in 1989 to undertake a variety of speciality sales management roles in Europe and the US. In 1996 he returned to The Netherlands to take up the position of European business manager for polybutylene and later for styrene. In 2000 he was appointed to lead the global styrene business.

In 2004, David joined Shell International as the Group’s Vice President for Recruitment. During that period, he was an executive board member of the Community of European Management Schools (CEMS).

Outside work, David has been active in a number of non-profit organisations. Currently he is on the executive board of two schools in Amsterdam.
