Barry Klein is General Manager of the Scotford Manufacturing site. In this role, Barry is accountable for all aspects of performance across the Refining and Chemical operations at this site, located outside Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Barry joined Shell in 1986 and has spent most of that time in manufacturing, or associated with the Chemicals and Refining businesses. He has held a wide variety of manufacturing leadership roles at the Belpre and Geismar Chemical plants in the US.

Barry has also been in a range of leadership positions, working in the areas of control systems, project execution, start-up coordination, operations leadership, technology leadership, and business strategy. In his previous assignment, Barry was General Manager – Reliability, Maintenance, and Turnarounds, responsible for improving Shell’s manufacturing assets globally.

Barry and his wife have two children, both studying at Louisiana State University. Barry enjoys many outdoors activities including riding motorcycles, golf, softball, and water sports.
