Grant Haddix
Global Strategy Manager, Higher Olefins & Derivatives Business
Grant is Global Strategy Manager for the Shell Chemicals Higher Olefins and Derivatives business. In the past, he has led or participated in a variety of studies setting strategic direction for the Shell chemicals companies and is widely recognised as an expert on the petrochemical industry.
Grant has 20 years’ experience with Shell, starting in the research and development area in 1988. Initial assignments at Westhollow in analytical chemistry were followed by engineering roles in Shell Chemicals, a financial modelling role in Shell Finance Services, and then a position as a strategist for Shell Chemicals. Two years were spent outside Shell as a co-founder & CEO of a software start-up company.
His educational background is in chemical engineering (BS Iowa State, PhD UC Berkeley) and business (MBA University of Texas). Grant lives in Katy, Texas where he and his wife are raising four children. He enjoys fishing, hunting and flying.
