Organised by the World Refining Association (WRA) Petchem Arabia 2009 was held in Abu Dhabi in October.
Highlights of the event included:
- Refinery and Petrochemical Integration Workshop (12 October): Strategies and best practices for developing integrated facilities.
- Gulf Petrochemicals HSE Symposium (15 October): Sustainable development in the Gulf petrochemicals sector and HSE best practices.
- Borouge Site Visit (15 October): Visit to Borouge’s facilities in Ruwais where they are currently expanding and see the foundations being made for one of the largest petrochemical plants in the world.
On behalf of Shell Chemicals - Aslam Moola, Business Development Manager - made a presentation in the afternoon of Wednesday 14 October. He spoke on the topic of “Creating petrochemical growth platforms:: leveraging existing assets & world class technology”.
