Why did you decide to work for Shell? |
The company I was originally working for built a joint venture with Shell in 2002 and was later taken over completely. I was very happy about this merger because Shell is a global player that offers very good prospects for young people. I was most excited about the development and training programmes as well as the opportunity to work in a diverse, international environment.

How would you describe your typical day? |
What I really like about my job is that there isn't a daily routine. The only thing that can be described as typical is the ongoing communication with colleagues in different European locations, like Rotterdam, Vienna or Baar. This means, of course, that I take part in many net meetings, teleconferences and - if possible - face to face meetings.

What do you like most about the job? |
I get a lot of satisfaction from being involved in the core business of the company. Participating in the planning of the product flow is a great responsibility because any decision has a direct impact on the oil products business result. It is very motivating to realise how important the personal contribution is for the business as a whole. The other thing I really enjoy is the working atmosphere. There's a high team spirit and everyone respects each other. This means people are motivated to deliver good results and to provide an excellent service to our internal and external customers.

What would you like to do in the future? |
I would like to learn Dutch so I can communicate with my Dutch colleagues in their native language.
