Geology/Geophysics

I work as part of the newly established Global Exploration team responsible for delivering consistent production growth. Basically, we must identify and nurture new exploration opportunities globally. I work the 'white space', looking at places on the globe that nobody else is considering from the perspective of developing new businesses or exploring new basins. I also evaluate both internal and external proposals to fund ventures.
Graham, Global Exploration Geologist

We’re responsible for finding commercially viable oil and gas reserves by assessing the characteristics and constraints of the earth’s subsurface.

Join us and you’ll be involved in the exploration and appraisal of new areas, feasibility studies and field development planning for our discovered fields. You’ll also play a part in optimising recovery of the producing field.

Working in integrated teams with colleagues in Petroleum, Wells and Production Engineering, you can expect to be involved in:

  • Planning 3D seismic acquisition, processing and interpreting the seismic data using new techniques
  • Creating advanced geological models of the subsurface
  • Defining the reservoir properties
  • Planning development wells in terms of location and trajectory
  • Creating new ways to access remaining reserves.
