1) What is Shell V-Power gasoline? How is V-Power gasoline different from Shell's other fuels?

Shell V-Power gasoline is Shell's premium-grade gasoline. It is a unique fuel formulation designed to help remove power-robbing intake valve deposits from the engine, allowing it to run smoother, and to help improve performance. Our value proposition to customers is "Fill up with Shell V-Power gasoline to help clean your engine as you drive."

Shell V-Power gasoline is a premium octane gasoline and provides faster clean up of harmful intake valve deposits than Shell Bronze.

2) What is the difference between Shell V-Power gasoline and our competitor's premium gasoline?

The testing and performance evaluations of Shell V-Power gasoline did not directly compare Shell's premium gasoline to the competition's premium gasoline. The testing did however use Shell V-Power gasoline to clean up the power-robbing intake valve deposits caused by a base gasoline injected with the lowest allowable concentration of deposit control additive as specified in CGSB* standards. These results were very positive and demonstrated Shell V-Power gasoline's ability to help clean the engine, which helps deliver improved performance while driving. 3) How does Shell V-Power gasoline help protect the engine?

Ordinary gasolines may cause the build-up of performance robbing intake valve deposits in the engine. Shell V-Power gasoline is designed to help prevent this. Moreover the powerful cleaning agents in Shell V-Power gasoline are able to help remove existing intake valve deposits and help engine performance. Tests on representative vehicles have shown that, on average, Shell V-Power gasoline is able to remove more than half of existing deposits on intake valves in as little as two tank fills.

4) How does Shell V-Power gasoline help deliver improved performance and responsiveness?

Shell V-Power gasoline contains a special formulation that helps an engine's ability to deliver power when it is needed. As drivers use the fuel, it begins removing the power-robbing intake valve deposits that normally accumulate in the engine. These deposits can disrupt proper mixing of fuel and air going to the combustion chambers. Continued use helps the engine perform at its best.

5) Can my vehicle benefit from Shell V-Power gasoline?

The global team that formulates racing fuels for Ferrari helped develop the original Shell V-Power gasoline. Our unique formulation is the result of applying Shell Canada’s technical expertise with Shell International’s experience in developing fuels for Ferrari Formula One. We are then able to use this expertise in Canada. Powering Ferrari road cars and its racing operations, Shell’s products were used in the very first Ferrari cars and they played a key role in Ferrari's first Formula One appearance in 1950.

7) Are Shell fuels really developed with Ferrari?

Yes, the global developments in fuel and oil tested by Shell in Ferrari's Formula One cars are transferred to Ferrari road cars and to Shell stations everywhere. A team of more than 40 Shell people worldwide is involved in the Formula One program to support Ferrari. They supply 250,000 litres of fuel and 40 tonnes of lubricants per year to race and test tracks around the world. Shell Canada uses Shell’s learnings from the Formula One program to improve our fuels. This technical knowledge has been applied to our Shell V-Power gasoline so ordinary drivers here in Canada can enjoy many of the same benefits.

8) How was Shell V-Power gasoline developed and tested?

Shell V-Power gasoline has been lab tested using engine test beds and in vehicles on chassis dynamometers ("rolling roads"), as well as in actual on-road conditions in Canada. Shell V-Power gasoline uses the best technical advice of Shell’s Canadian and global fuel experts.

9) Why is Shell V-Power gasoline more expensive than conventional fuels?

Shell V-Power gasoline is a premium octane gasoline that costs more to manufacture than regular octane gasoline. As such, it is priced competitively among premium fuels.

10) Where do the deposits go?

Shell gasolines help remove the normal build-up of power-robbing deposits from vehicle intake systems. During routine driving, small amounts of the deposits are continually dissolved, enter the combustion chamber, and are consumed in the combustion process.

11) What effect will this fuel have on the environment?

Since Shell V-Power gasoline helps performance, it helps improve engine efficiency, so reduces fuel consumption and leads to fewer emissions.

12) What is the difference between Shell Bronze and Shell V-Power gasolines?

Shell injects an exclusive, proprietary deposit control additive (DCA) into all our gasolines at the point of distribution, which exceeds the TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline and CGSB* standards. Shell's DCA:

Shell V-Power gasoline can help improve performance and help provide power when you need it. Continued use helps the engine perform at its best. It will help keep new cars in good condition and help to restore performance in older cars by removing intake valve deposits. Benefits may vary from car to car dependent upon driving style, maintenance, and other fuel usage.

14) What happens after the 2nd fill? Do I keep on cleaning my engine or does it plateau? Is that as clean as it's going to get?
