Garia D – Neat cutting oil Shell Garia D oil is an extreme pressure metalworking oil of the ‘active’ type for the machining of ferrous metals where the material is difficult to machine. It should not be used for the machining of ‘yellow’ metals, as it will possibly stain them.
Shell Garia D oil forms transparent films so it is easy to see the work piece surfaces when it is being used, and its viscosity is such that ‘drag-out’ is reduced to a minimum.

Dromus B – Soluble cutting oil Dromus B oil is a soluble oil for making emulsions for use in turning, milling and grinding operations where the proper cooling of the workpiece is essential. It is Shell's most versatile general purpose soluble oil and it has a performance which will satisfy most of the requirements of machine shop applications.
Dromus B oil is recommended for sawing, turning, milling, boring and grinding, particularly where it has to be mixed with water which has a hardness above 400 parts per million (ppm). It can also be used for quenching induction heated parts, as a roll coolant and as a corrosion inhibitor in hydraulic systems where water is used as the hydraulic medium. Because Dromus B oil contains a biocide, no other system bacterial protection is normally required.

Macron 221 M-32 - Premium tripurpose cutting oils Shell Macron cutting oils are transparent, light colored cutting oils formulated from high quality severely hydroprocessed base stocks with a naturally high viscosity index. The Macron 221CM and 222CM cutting oils are formulated with a conventional chlorinated extreme pressure additive, whereas the Macron “M series Macron" of cutting oils utilize a unique combination of passive and inactive extreme pressure additives. The EP properties of the Macron cutting oils allow faster machining rates, provide extended tool life, and protect against staining of yellow metals. The Macron additive systems provide excellent performance in reacting at the chip-tool interface to reduce friction, but will not promote unfavorable reactions with internal components in hydraulic and lubrication systems.
These cutting oils are also extremely effective at providing rust and corrosion protection of parts, cutting tools, and the machine. All of these oils have excellent anti-wear properties to minimize tool wear and reduce machine down time due to tool change-out. The Macron “M series” contains a special lubricity additive that will impart a better finish on the part without varnish or sludge formation in the machine tool or hydraulic system like those formed by many fatty oils or materials. All of these cutting oils have high flash points, will helps minimize the potential for fire.
All of the Macron products contain an extremely effective anti-mist additive, which reduces the formation of mist around the machine. This in turn will reduce stray mist in the atmosphere, lower machine maintenance costs, and improve shop cleanliness. The unique combination of additives in the Macron series of cutting oils also imparts excellent cooling properties which make these products good choices in many of today’s newer, hi-tech machines operating at greatly increased speed and feed rates. The excellent cooling properties of these oils have been observed in certain machining operations to eliminate overheating (bluing) of parts and chips.
Shell Macron oils are tripurpose because they can be used as the hydraulic oil, machine lube, and cutting oil in machine tools such as automatic screw machines and NC/CNC machining centers.

Pella A - Low Viscosity clear mineral oil Pella A oil is a low viscosity straight mineral oil. It is used as a diluent to adjust viscometric properties of heavy duty metalworking oils and as a cutting fluid in lapidary applications. Pella A is nearly odourless, it has a near transparent colour, and as such it can be used for paper water proofing such as credit card slips. Pella A oil has been used to grind lenses for eye glasses, as a coolant and lubricant for diamond tipped saws, for cutting stones and ceramics, and in the machining of nonferrous metals and alloys.

Shell Sump Cleaner 100 - Metalworking Coolant Sump Cleaner Shell Sump Cleaner 100 is intended as a labor saving tool for cleaning metalworking fluid sumps, and to help extend the useful life of the fresh metalworking fluid. Shell Sump Cleaner 100 may be circulated with water or with used Shell machining coolant at a concentration of 3% to 5% for 2 to 8 hours. Heating is not recommended. Concentration and circulation time is dependent on the degree of sump contamination. Circulation with used Shell coolant helps reduce machine downtime for cleaning, by loosening and suspending oil and sludge which is much more effective than dumping and recharging without use of cleaner. Use of Shell Sump Cleaner 100 with water after manual sludge removal provides maximum cleaning and anti-microbial control.
Thorough sump cleaning is always recommended prior to initial uses of Shell coolants in order to prevent cross contamination of fluids. Detailed sump cleaning instructions are available in a separate technical publication.
