Application: Primarily used in aircraft piston engines during break-in. Consult your aircraft engine builder or overhaul facility for specific recommendations.

Application: Designed for use in four-cycle aircraft piston engines and it is approved by Continental, Lycoming and Pratt & Whitney for their piston engines in all types of service.

NOTE: not recommended for helicopters with a common sump for the engine and transmission oil.

AeroShell – Non-dispersant type aircraft piston engine oils


AeroShell oils are mineral oil based aircraft piston engine oils. All grades are approved for SAE J-1966 specifications (formerly MIL-L-6082E) for ashless non-dispersant aircraft piston engine oils.

AeroShell W – Dispersant type aircraft piston engine oils


AeroShell W oils are ashless dispersant type aircraft piston engine oils. All grades are approved for SAE J-1899 specifications (formerly MIL-L-22851D) for ashless dispersant aircraft piston engine oils. These oils also meet aircraft reciprocating engine AD (ashless dispersant type) specifications for several four cycle aircraft piston engines including Teledyne Continental MHS No. 24B and Avco Lycoming No. 301-F

AeroShell W 15W-50 – Dispersant type multigrade aircraft piston engine oil


AeroShell W Multigrade 15W-50 oil is a synthetic blend, ashless dispersant (AD type) aircraft piston engine oil. It is approved for SAE J-1899 specification (formerly MIL-L-22851D) for four-cycle aircraft piston engine oils. It also meets aircraft reciprocating engine AD specifications including Teledyne-Continental MOTORS MHS No. 24B and Avco Lycoming No. 301F. For operators of Lycoming engines including models O-320H, O-360E, LO-360, TO-360E, and LTO-360E there is no need to add Lycoming additive LW 16702. As per FAA Airworthiness Directive AD 80-04-03R2 (Transport Canada reference 5014-4 (AARDGM), Aeroshell W Multigrade 15W-50 oil meets an equivalent method of compliance without the addition of LW 16702.

AeroShell W 100 Plus – Dispersant type aircraft piston engine oil


AeroShell W 100 Plus oil is an ashless dispersant (AD type) aircraft piston engine oil with improved corrosion and anti-wear protection. It is approved for SAE J-1899 (formerly MIL-L-22851D) specifications for ashless dispersant type aircraft piston engine oils. It also meets aircraft reciprocating engine AD specifications including Teledyne-Continental Motors MHS No. 24B, and Avco Lycoming No. 301F. For operators of Lycoming engines including models O-320H, O-360E, LO-360, TO-360E, and LTO-360E there is no need to add Lycoming additive LW 16702. As per FAA Airworthiness Directive AD 80-04-03R2, Aeroshell Oil W 100 PLUS meets an equivalent method of compliance without the addition of LW 16702.
