Improved Performance Properties of SEAM

printable version
SEAM mix pavements are stronger than conventional pavements resulting in improved rut resistance and cold weather cracking, yielding longer road life.

SEAM is not only a binder extender, but also an asphalt mix modifier. Mix modification with SEAM results in:

  • Increased Marshall Stability
  • Reduced pavement rutting (permanent deformation)
  • Reduced permanent creep strain
  • Increased resilient modulus
  • Increased fatigue life (constant stress mode)
  • Reduced pavement cracking at low temperatures
  • Improved quality of mixes made with waxy bitumens

Addition of SEAM increases Marshall Stability

Addition of SEAM reduces APA rut depth
