Shell retailers from across Saskatchewan have joined forces for the fourth year in a row to donate sales money to Telemiracle. Last year, 37 Saskatchewan Shell retailers donated over $12,000, including the corporate match from Shell. This year, all Java Café coffee and cappuccino sales plus car wash sales made between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. on February 18, will be donated to Telemiracle. Retailers have also been selling “helping hands” to customers since January 11 and hope to raise even more funds this year to support the Kinsmen Foundation. “Shell is pleased to partner with our retailers to support the Telemiracle again this year as a gold sponsor,” says Scott Koetke, Shell’s district manager for the prairies. “Our retailers are small business people and donating a day of Java Café coffee and car wash sales to Telemiracle demonstrates incredible community spirit. Shell is proud of retailers’ efforts and will match the first $5,000 raised dollar-for-dollar.” “Telemiracle really brings people across the province together. It’s been a big part of my life, and as a retailer it’s satisfying to be able to give back to the community,” says Brian Melnyk of Kindersley Shell station. Shell retailers will present the company’s donation cheque during the Telemiracle telethon, which will be broadcast on March 5 and 6, 2005.
