The Shell Peace River Complex, located about 40 kilometres northeast of Peace River, is licensed to produce 12,000 barrels of bitumen per day using thermal production techniques.

Shell is currently considering expanding our bitumen production in the Peace River area to 100,000 barrels per day with the Carmon Creek Project

Seal Battery

Seal Battery

The Seal Battery processes bitumen recovered through cold production. It has capacity to produce 23,000 barrels of bitumen per day.

Cliffdale Battery

Cliffdale Battery

The Cliffdale Battery processes bitumen recovered through cold production. It came onstream in 2007 and has capacity to produce 27,000 barrels of bitumen per day.
