The Exploration and Production (E&P) business unit explores for and produces natural gas and natural gas liquids, and is Canada’s largest sulphur producer. E&P also includes Shell’s Unconventional Oil business - in situ oil sands operations that use wells to extract bitumen too deep to be surface mined. E&P operates four sour natural gas processing facilities in the Foothills area of Alberta and four bitumen production facilities in Northern Alberta. It also operates a number of sour gas wells in northeast BC. It includes a 31.3 per cent share of the Sable Offshore Energy Project offshore Nova Scotia, partnership in the proposed Mackenzie Gas Project in northern Canada and an exploration interest in the Orphan Basin offshore Newfoundland.

Oil Products
Oil Products (OP) manufactures, distributes and markets refined petroleum products across the country. The OP business also procures crude oil and feedstocks for Shell’s refineries in Montreal, Quebec; Sarnia, Ontario; and Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. The refineries convert crude oil into products, including gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation fuels, solvents, lubricants, asphalt and heavy fuel oils. Shell products are supplied to retail and commercial road transport markets through Shell’s Canada-wide network of retail and cardlock sites.
