Frequently Asked Questions

Why does Shell advertise?

Research has told us that many Canadians are not familiar with Shell Canada's approach to doing business. So, while we continue to engage our stakeholders in a wide range of important and sometimes sensitive issues, we also use advertising to reach a much wider group of Canadians. We want to talk to more Canadians, listen to what they have to say, and respond in ways that position us for continuous improvement.

Why should I believe this advertising?

The advertisements are real examples of Shell Canada's approach to doing business. We're not using actors - the people are either Shell employees or people who work with us on projects.

How can a company whose business is based on extracting and producing a non-renewable energy source help achieve a sustainable world?

At Shell Canada, we are in the business of meeting society's needs for energy - energy that society requires for growth and development. We take a broad perspective and a long-term view of the future, and recognize that society increasingly insists that energy needs are met in an environmentally and socially responsible way.
