Recycling Asphalt materials are 10 to 60% recyclable in plants and upto 100% in situ. Paving can therefore by recycled several times, which helps reduce the amount of aggregate required and consquently the number of lorry journeys to and from the quarry. >> Recycling Carbon Benefit Shell Bitumen’s WAM Foam production process reduces production and laying temperatures by about 50°C. To achieve that, in the production process, the conventional bitumen is replaced by the use of two separate bitumen components in the mixing stage: a special soft bitumen and a hard grade in foam form. Such combination enables the product to be successfully mixed at lower temperatures than conventional hot mixes. By reducing production and laying temperature of about 50°C, there is a dramatic reduction of emissions, dust and fumes. >> WAM Foam Biobased Shell Floraphalte is manufactured using plant based renewable ingredients and a high performance polymer to ensure excellent performance and durability. It has a high flash point and a low odour and requires lower manufacturing and application temperatures. It can be produced at up to 40°C lower mixing temperatures compared with traditional asphalt, providing reduction of emissions, including CO2, at the mixing plant and a significant reduction of the total energy consumption. >> Shell Floraphalte |
