Houston, TX – Shell Aviation, a division of Shell Oil Products US, which is a global supplier of aviation fuels, lubricants and services, and Servisair/GlobeGround, a worldwide company specializing in airport ground services, have signed an agreement to form a new joint venture company (JVC) called Servisair & Shell Fuel Services LLC. The JVC will pursue new airport fuelling service contracts at all major airports in North America under the terms of the agreement, which came into force on January 1, 2004. Servisair & Shell Fuel Services LLC will provide high quality and reliable aircraft refueling and fuel facility management to the commercial aviation community in North America. The JVC will combine the complementary strengths of Shell Aviation’s global experience in airport operations with that of Servisair/GlobeGround’s expertise in airport ground services in North America. Rick Woods, Shell Aviation's Regional Vice President in North America said: “This agreement fills what until now has been a gap in Shell’s airport services offering. It brings together two like-minded organizations which are both committed to providing customers with a reliable fuel supply and first class service while maintaining the highest safety and environmental standards.” Fernando DiBenedetto, Servisair/GlobeGround’s COO for the Americas, said: “Having Shell Aviation as a partner in our new company complements Servisair/GlobeGround’s established strength in the delivery of its aviation fueling services. Our combined resources and expertise will enable us to grow our presence in the market.” Fred Knapp, President of Servisair & Shell Fuel Services LLC, said: “This new company will incorporate the best practices of Servisair/GlobeGround and Shell Aviation in delivering superior services to the aviation community.” The Fuel sales business of Shell and the fuel management business of Servisair/GlobeGround are not within the scope of the JVC and remain totally independent businesses.
