Shell Indonesia and Pertamina today establish a Joint Operations Agreement (KSO) in the Aviation Fuels business, covering into-plane operations services, technical and management services and aviation fuel supply at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta. A long-term agreement to supply Aviation Fuel into Indonesia will likewise be established between a Shell-affiliated company and Pertamina, as part of the joint partnerships. Through this partnership, Pertamina will gain access to Shell's Aviation Management System, world-class operational standards and procedures and training programs, tools that have led to Shell Aviation being chosen by global aviation customers as the best provider of Aviation Fuel supply and services for several years. Pertamina will also be able to serve Indonesian-registered aircrafts in selected overseas airports where Shell operates. Meanwhile, Shell is able to add Jakarta's Soekarna-Hatta airport to its network of airports around the world to serve its wide range of customers. This joint-operations agreement is a result of a joint-study team by Pertamina and Shell, following the MOU on Aviation cooperation signed in November 2005. Ari Soemarno, President Director of Pertamina, said, "We are excited with this cooperation as it enables us to raise our Aviation operational standards to world-class levels while allowing us to extend our services to our customers outside of Indonesia." Bob Moran, Country Chairman and President Director of Shell in Indonesia, said, "This joint operations is one of Shell's key strategies for establishing a Downstream presence in Indonesia and building a mutually beneficial partnership with Pertamina. We are confident that this cooperation will generate significant added value and benefits to aviation customers in Indonesia and for both Pertamina and Shell."
