Pertamina and Shell Commence Aviation Fuels Operations |

Today, PERTAMINA and Shell commences operations of a long-term partnership in the aviation fuel business, which includes into-plane operational services, technical and management services, and aviation fuel procurement at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Jakarta.
Achmad Faisal, PERTAMINA's Corporate Senior Vice President of Marketing and Trade, said, "We will do our utmost to make use of our competitive adventage and maintain our leadership and profitability in the Indonesian aviation fuel market, as it is important for our strategic growth. However, we also understand that an open and dynamic market is influenced by several factors and parties. We share the same understanding with other business players and stakeholders - including Shell and Angkasa Pura – that our operations should help enable this market to be more efficient & beneficial for business people and other stakeholders. After a long discussion to formulate the best cooperation, we create this an into-plane joint cooperation" explained Faisal. Darwin Silalahi, President Director and Country Chairman Shell Indonesia said, "We are excited to officially start the Aviation Fuels operations today in Indonesia with our partner, Pertamina, and we are committed to deliver on our agreement. We believe customers will appreciate the added value and benefits that this partnership brings. " The partnership enables Shell to add Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta airport to its network of airports around the world where it serves its customers. PERTAMINA will gain access to Shell's Aviation Management System, world-class operational standards and procedures, and training programs, tools that have led to Shell Aviation being chosen by global aviation customers as the best provider of aviation fuel and services for several years. In the near future, the partnership will also allow PERTAMINA to serve its customers at selected overseas airports where Shell operates.
