1 ] Always wear eye protection when operating near or around chemicals or power equipment. Make sure loose clothing is secured so it does not get tangled in equipment. 2 ] Prior to work, check with your local airport authority, EPA or other governing authority to make sure you are acting within local guidelines. 3 ] Starting at the top, and working front to back, perform a visual inspection of the aircraft. Look for anything that could cause damage by cleaning action. 4 ] Make sure all static ports and other openings are covered with waterproof tape or other cover material so they are protected from water, cleaning chemicals, levelers, sealers or waxes. Any or all of these items could clog ports and cause extensive damage to the aircraft. PLEASE NOTE! Failing to remove cover materials could cause advance damage to aircraft or cause malfunction of instrumentation during flight. 5 ] Be aware of static wicks while performing work. Many static wicks are very sensitive and easily broken by any forceful action. 6 ] Be aware of your surroundings. Be sure the cleaning of your aircraft does not affect other aircraft or property near your work area.
