Let's Read

Let’s Read is a comprehensive early literacy program that promotes the importance of reading with young children from birth to five years. Let’s Read, an initiative of the Centre for Community Child Health, is being developed and implemented across Australia, in partnership with The Smith Family. Shell in Australia is the inaugural corporate supporter of Let's Read.

Let's Read is a unique opportunity for Shell to invest in the future of Australia's children.  Shell's support of the project since 2005 has helped fund its development, enabling Let's Read to reach 100,000 children nationally by the end of 2008.

Early literacy is a key challenge facing Australia. Shell is taking a lead role in supporting this early intervention program and thereby helping to ensure a healthy community and a strong future workforce.
