What disciplines are you recruiting from?

We are recruiting engineering students including those studying chemical, electrical and mechanical or civil engineering.

We are also interested in students studying Business/Commerce, Sales, Marketing courses.

I am studying in Australia but my home is elsewhere. Do you have any opportunities for me?

You need to have Australian PR or citizenship at the time of application  to be eligible for the Vacation Placements we have available

What are the criteria you look for in a recruit?

Firstly, we look for a credit average in university marks across all years of study.

Next we look at your level of extra-curricular activity - positions of leadership, involvement in clubs/societies/sporting associations, community work, Young Achievers etc.

We use this information to assess whether your university life has been more than a one-dimensional experience of academic achievement.

Why? Because we're looking for well-rounded people who've given things a try and experienced all life has to offer.

We gather the information we need from both your resume and the online application form. So make sure you take the time to read about our selection criteria and answer the application form questions with our criteria in mind.

How long should I put aside to complete your application form?

We generally recommend that you first print off the application form.  Take the time to read it and think about the sort of information we are asking for.

Then if you decide you’d like to apply to us you’ll need to allow about 2 hours to complete the form.

We suggest that you complete your answers to the longer ‘open’ questions in a word processing programme. When you’ve checked your spelling, grammar and the length of each answer (which is limited to 150 words), then you can cut and paste your answers into our application form.  In this way your work is safe should there be a problem with the web-based application.

Why do you ask us to complete those long ‘open’ questions?

We use the longer answers as a way of screening your application. In addition to your CV these answers give us the opportunity to look for in depth evidence on our criteria.

The criteria we use throughout our recruitment cycle are;

    • Capacity – your analytical ability to place problems in a wide but relevant perspective.
    • Achievement – your ability to get things done.
    • Relationships – your ability to work efficiently with others in a team.

The ‘open’ questions are your opportunity to demonstrate to us your capacity, achievement and relationship skills in some detail.
