The first stage is for you to complete our online application form.We recommend that you preview the application form and draft your open-ended answers on paper before starting and submitting your application.

You will also need to prepare your CV/resume.

The second stage is a short (15-20 minute) phone interview. This is designed to give us an opportunity to investigate our selection criteria in more depth. Specifically, we will ask you to analyse a contemporary topic.

In the interview, your interviewer will be an experienced recruiter or line manager. During the interview you will have the opportunity to discuss your achievements, challenges you've faced and qualities you've demonstrated. You will also be asked to analyse a contemporary topic. Finally, you will be given the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about Shell and potential employment with us.

Individually, you'll have an hour and a half (two hours if English is not your first language) to work on a case study - typically involving a fictional company. You will be assigned a particular role within the company. Briefing notes will give you background information on the country, company, divisions and people involved. You will be asked to propose a solution to the critical issues arising in the case. A 5-minute informal presentation by yourself will be followed by a 20 minute question and answer session with the assessors.
