Social Performance

Social performance is how we manage the impact of our business on the local community.

We do this by working to help deliver benefits such as jobs and business opportunities, and most importantly, communicating and listening to what the local community has to say.

To help us, we listen to advice from the refinery's Community Advisory Panel (CAP) and feedback received from the local community.

The objective of our social investment programme is to help build capacity in the local community in the areas of education, health and the environment. Our social investment activities aim to deliver long-term benefits to the local community.

	Community Engagement Being a good neighbour begins with listening. It gives a better understanding of the impact of the refinery's operations and how best to respond.

	Community Advisory Panel (CAP) Shell’s CAP is a key component of the refinery’s community engagement model and acts as the refinery's advisory group on social and environmental performance.

	Shell Employee Community Grants Shell's Employee Community Grants programme allocates funding of up to $5,000 to local not-for-profit organisations.

	Social Investment The aim of Shell’s social investment programme is to help community organisations achieve their goals.
