Shell’s CAP is a key component of the refinery’s community engagement model and acts as the advisory group on social and environmental performance. As Chairman, Rob aims to work with the refinery and the community to generate better outcomes for the local area. “I’m very pleased to be elected chairman of the refinery’s Community Advisory Panel as I believe it has enormous potential to help generate improved sustainable development outcomes for local residents,” said Rob. “The CAP will support community consultation that is proactive and inclusive of a broad range of individuals and local interest groups. In doing so we aim to better identify the issues local people are facing and, where possible, help the refinery develop solutions that address them. “Community members can contact the CAP by writing to PO Box 4, Corio, VIC. 3214. Alternatively, an email can be sent via the refinery – geelongrefinery-au@shell.com,” he said.
