In 2006, Shell Geelong Refinery supplied 50% of Victoria's and 75% of Tasmania's fuel needs. This included 2.2 billion litres of low benzene fuel, and in an Australian world first, V-Power Racing - a 100-octane fuel, formulated with 5% ethanol.

More than 6.3 billion litres of petroleum products were produced, equal to about 17.2 million litres a day.
Our History
Shell Geelong Refinery was commissioned in 1954 and is one of the largest and most complex hydrocarbon refineries in Australia.
